Review
Laksa - The soup of the Laksa is rich and thick, and the condiments are also generously given, plainly looking at the bowl of Laksa is enough to trigger your appetite. One of such condiments is the plump and juicy blood cockle. These fresh and enticing blood cockles are well prepared by the owner separately to retain its shape, allowing his customers to fully enjoy the juiciness of it.
Chao Guo Tiao (Fried Kuey Teow) - The ‘Chao Guo Tiao’ here are exceptional, like a bottle of red wine, it gets better as it is kept longer. Similarly, as we leave this plate of ‘Chao Guo Tiao’ out longer, the flavours are getting more full-bodied as time passes. The kuey teow and the yellow noodles combination are satisfying and compliment each other in terms of food texture.
Hong Dou Tang (Red Bean Soup) - Comparing ‘Hong Dou Tang’ with ‘Hong Dou Sha’, it is less dense and clearer. The red beans retain its shape and is paired with the gummy sago balls, very appetizing. Moreover, each bite has a solid texture due to the chewy and crumbly red beans.
Mai Zhou (Sweet Wheat Porridge) - ‘Mai Zhou’ has a very spongy texture to it, pleasingly smoothing on your palate. It is also not overly sweet, and has even aided in the secretion of more saliva, making our appetite grow instead. A big bowl of ‘Mai Zhou’ is obviously not enough to satisfy our cravings!
